Demolish and re-construct a service station in Padstow, NSW.
The primary challenge for this project was working under very strict OH&S guidelines including the issue of permits for any hot work being undertaken on-site.
This required extremely tight controls including the creation of exclusions zones for welding and other hot works, and continuous gas monitoring. Much consideration and planning was required early in the construction phase to pre-empt any potential hazards.
Every task undertaken on the site needed to be considered carefully due to the potentially hazardous repercussions. Everyone who visited the site needed to ensure they took into consideration the unique working environment.
In addition to the OH&S challenges, there were specific ingress and egress considerations around the site, requiring strategic traffic management to assist neighbouring business. The management of multiple contractors was also important for the successful completion of the project.
