Clifford Constructions worked closely with BP’s inhouse environmental team during the excavation works to overcome several environmental issues. Extensive lime stabilisation was also required across the site. There were interesting hurdles related to changes in zoning and conditions as a result of adjacent M4 works. Clifford Constructions demonstrated flexibility and adaptability in dealing with these changes and expediting works through the process. Communication with multiple stakeholders, council and related authorities during this period was important and executed effectively. Existing power poles required re-location during the build. The store concept was a hybrid of 2 designs, so Clifford Constructions had to work closely with client to make sure it was done the right way.
