The Brief

BP Katoomba was a knock down re-build of an existing BP service station in the Blue Mountains, NSW.

The site configuration was transformed to fully utilise the land, maximise the commercial benefits, and improve the service offering to customers.

The Challenges

Whilst Clifford Constructions has worked with BP on multiple service station construction projects, this project was the first project with The Dunn Group Pty Ltd, a private owner of a licensed BP service station.

As a private owner, the input from The Dunn Group was a critical element of the success of the project. They took a very hands-on approach to the construction project and engaged very few consultants to assist. As a result there was less documentation than we were used to, and fewer drawings supplied. Clifford Constructions needed to work extremely closely with the client to extract the information required and ensure that there was a very clear and open dialogue every step of the way.

Through collaboration, consultation, communication and good teamwork, the project ran very smoothly (aside from a terrible spate of rain & extreme weather conditions).

We worked together to achieve cost savings to the client by providing a range of alternative solutions to choose from.

the Outcome

The client is very happy with the outcome of the project. The Dunn Group, together with Clifford Constructions has achieved a very impressive retail space. Next time you are in Katoomba, make sure you drop in a take a look.

Testimonial

The boys did a great job – the next time I build a site I will only source one quote & that will be from Clifford Constructions – I won’t bother sourcing a different quote – that’s how impressed I was”
